I had such fun camping out on my own at Wild Rivers for a couple of days and nights as a kind of nature and art retreat/mom getaway. I experimented with a lot of different processes, painting ideas, drawings from different perspectives etc. But the strongest body of work that emerged from my time were these “Botanical Brushes” and small painting experiments with them. The wonderful textures, colors and sensual experiences of the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument knocks my socks off - even though it’s edge is only fifteen minutes from my house. I can never get enough of it! Thank you trees, plants, skies earth and wonderful textures of the world for the inspiration!

The work was also shown at OCHO Art and Event Space in Questa, NM as part of the Wild Rivers Plein Air Festival. Here I am with my brushes and little paintings!
