I was honored to have my piece This Place Has Seen included in On Which It Rests, a juried summer exhibition in the Dean Porter Gallery, Lunder Research Center at the Couse-Sharp Historic Site Couse-Sharp Historic Site in Taos, New Mexico. The exhibition was on view July 5 — August 30, 2024 and was a collaboration between TAAC (Taos Abstract Artist Collective) and the Couse-Sharp Historic Site.
It was a fabulous opening, exhibition space and property with a fascinating history. The show was expertly curated and installed by Davison Packard Koenig, Executive Director and Curator of Couse-Sharp Historic Site and Alexandra Terry, Curator of Contemporary Art at the New Mexico Museum of Art and the Couse-Sharp Team.
Place, the theme of this show is central to my practice, so it was especially meaningful to have my work selected. The show was described: “On Which It Rests is an exhibition and visual dialogue intended to foster conversation on the importance of place within the artistic process.” Read more about the conceptual basis for the show and see all works in the show here.
I was honored to be invited to speak on the panel discussion during the exhibition, which was recorded and added to the TAAC Talks Archive:
Gratitude to everyone who came out for the opening and panel discussion and for the positive feedback on the show. Huge thanks to @taosabstractartistcollective for envisioning and manifesting this vision so impeccably!
