Reflection Collection

In these mixed media cyanotype works* on paper, ethereal botanical forms interact with abstract shapes gathered from the landscape. The Reflection Collection celebrates the textural experience of microclimates and plant species as well as the changing color symphony of light in my Northern New Mexico homeplace.

To make the work I settle into a place, cultivating gentle curiosity…explore. absorb. wait. watch. listen. Plein air interactions of shadow, wind and weather reveal intricate, ephemeral, plant forms and passing cloud shapes. Layers of drawing accumulate; the cyanotype process is completed outdoors with sun and water. These art “rituals” weave connection with this place and generate wonder and reverence.
